Last weekend we visited my grandma in her village in Valladolid. It is a beautiful place… On Saturday, there was a special celebration. Every year in June our friends celebrate a “Romeria” (similar to pilgrimage) to honor his brother, Paco, a famous painter that already passed away. Paco created a little church in the middle of the country, and painted a beautiful Christ on it. He started this tradition of pilgrimage every year, to celebrate a mass and eat with all his friends. This past Saturday we did that, we celebrated mass and enjoyed delicious paella in honor of our friend.
El pasado fin de semana visitamos a mi abuela en Valladolid. Es un sitio muy bonito…. El sábado, hubo una celebración especial. Todos los años en Junio nuestros amigos celebran una Romería en honor a su hermano Paco, un gran pintor, que ya ha fallecido. Paco creó una pequeña ermita en el campo y pintó un bonito Cristo en ella. El comenzó esta tradición de la romería cada año para celebrar misa y hacer una comida con los amigos. Este pasado sábado nosotros hicimos eso, celebrar misa y disfrutamos de una deliciosa paella en honor de nuestro amigo.
